i remember long time ago a young successful banker in a drunk stupor blurred out "what is all this for?" i ask myself the same every day.

successful people who cheat on their wives and hug them at societal functions, they are masters of pretence. i am getting there. in the heaps of unhappy people, i am just a small speck. social acceptance disgusts me. leave me alone.

The Wait
(Rainer Maria Rilke, translated by A. Poulin)

It is life in slow motion,
it's the heart in reverse,
it's a hope-and-a-half:
too much and too little at once.
It's a train that suddenly stops
with no station around,
and we can hear the cricket, and,
leaning out the carriage door,
we vainly contemplate a wind we feel
that stirs the blooming meadows,
the meadows made imaginary by this stop.
